Asemic writing is something that I’ve been fascinated with for a while. Curiosity and inspiration came from the works of American painter Cy Twombly. I became curious and started to experiment with my own “language or form of asemic writing.

This is really a form of mark making. By definition asemic writing is a wordless, open semantic form of writing "having no specific semantic content" and "without the smallest unit of meaning. Being non-specific means this allows the viewer/reader to fill in and interpret the works as they please. It can have no meaning or multiple meanings, or the interpretation can evolve over time.

Like with most abstract art, the interpretation is subjective to the viewer. The idea is to hover somewhere between reading and looking.I feel tremendous freedom in this form of expression, and over time there are certain gestural patterns and characteristics that have set in, making the writing marks distinct to me.
