FERTILE GROUND

A set of  2 canvases  

Continuing with the theme of Aerial views seen while flying over land. 

From the window, the ground below breaks into a shifting patchwork, ochre fields folding into deep green, cut through by dark boundary lines that read like a hand-drawn grid. The ground holds pattern: rows, blocks, the first evidence of intention pressed into soil. Height and distance flattens the terrain into pure shape and colour, rust and olive folding into one another as a wavering band of gold catches the light like tilled soil seen mid-flight. Nothing here confirms what's growing or whose land it is — only the pattern of use, laid out and abstracted, a moment of change caught mid-motion before the plane moves on.
