Aerial views seen while flying reveal landscapes as shifting patterns of texture and tone. 

Divisions in the earth appear with clarity,  human ownership becomes irrelevant, marked only by cities, fields, and roads. 

Contrasting untouched raw landscapes  create variety in texture and colour, flattened, compressed and abstracted by distance . Colours shift, terrain moves from rugged to smooth, and water cuts softly through the landscape glimmering and serpentine. Abstracted by distance, the ground reads as surface rather than place, shaped over time by weather, movement, and human marking.

These works draw from an overhead perspective, where land is observed as grid, boundary, and accumulated change.
